SBG Casa De Campo

After a week of denial, I have finally come to realize that no, I cannot live from the sea and Spring Break is really over. While I’m still working on my tele-transportation abilities to go back to Casa De Campo, I have decided to tell you a little bit about my experience in my favorite restaurant in CDC (though I have to admit it was hard to pick just one).

SBG has just recently opened this new location, after being very successful in Santo Domingo. I must admit I haven’t been to the original location, but it can’t compare to the breathtaking view of La Romana and being just steps away from the beach.

After a night-out where we became obsessed with the beef tataki and the grilled octopus, we decided we had to come back for our “last supper” in the Dominican Republic. We got a little bit carried away ordering so I will talk mostly about my favorites.

The ceviche limeño was a very classic yet flawless ceviche, and thanks to the wasabi lime ceviche, they  now share a tie for the best ceviche I have ever had. The Gambas Sophia were crunchy and delicious, filled with cream cheese and bacon; and the Focaccia has simply become my new obsession (I plan on recreating it at home) since if you know me, you know that if something involves truffles, I’m in.

Finally, the most important part of the meal came around: dessert. To sum it up (because I could spend hours writing about it) I seriously considered staying in the Dominican Republic forever just because of the Dulce De Leche Fondant and the Cookie Pot (I mean, just take a look at the inside of the fondant).

On top of everything, the ambiance is paradise-like, and I can really picture myself spending the rest of my life seating on the poolside sipping on SBG Mojitos. Dreaming of coming back to this place!
