About Me

Hello hungry readers. Thank you for venturing into my tiny and drool-worthy corner of the internet. My name is Oriana, I am a recent Penn State grad and current Le Cordon Bleu Pastry student.

Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, I was born in an Italo-Venezuelan household and have always had an extreme curiosity and appreciation for everything related to gastronomy.

My sole purpose to create this blog is very simple… I live to eat. I have started this as a journal through my delicious adventures traveling and at home. Il Piattone means “big dish” in Italian, which represents the infinite dishes and treats I will be enjoying and posting about. Be prepared to indulge with your eyes in some truly delicious plates, and read about my best recommendations, creations, and experiences.

Buon Appetito,
